This story about two people who are right for each other until it becomes clear that they really aren't shows the hopeful possibilities of teenage love, the immense talent of Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller and the many different lines that, whether they're crossed or not, determine the fate of individuals and pairs. Bonus points for Catherine Keener as Trish, the "hot grandma" who tries to bring Andy out of his original packaging. The movie that turned Steve Carell into a movie star is one of the best big-screen encapsulations of the Judd Apatow formula: considerable raunchiness made sweet through likable characters and perfect casting. But anyone who's seen it knows how spectacularly the film, featuring a breakout turn from Adele Exarchopoulos, taps into the feeling of young love as well as the crushing impact of people's different expectations for relationships. Ryan Reynolds can be a strong leading man when he turns off the ego, which he does to great effect in what in some ways is a feature-length version of "How I Met Your Mother." Yes, technically that description is true. If anyone ever makes a list of the best movie endings that feature someone sighing, "Her" must be on it. Sometimes you just want a movie about people you want to spend time with, and that's very much the case with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," which made me want to jump into the screen, and not just because it's mostly set in Hawaii.
